HostExplorer COM Objects Samples Readme.txt


Requirements to run the compiled Visual Basic executables (.exe) for Windows.

1. HostExplorer 2006 or higher.

2. Terminal Settings executable requires mscomctl.ocx - which should be placed 
in the System or System32 directory (files are common to most systems).


Requirements to view and run Visual Basic Source code projects (.vbp) for windows.

HostExplorer 2006 or higher
Visual Basic version 6.0



Description of Projects

Double click the Visual Basic (.vbp) project file and view source code on a 
machine that has Visual Basic 6.0 installed.

Each project folder contains the following:
*.vbp - The Visual Basic project file 
*.frm - The Visual Basic Form file	
*.frx - The Binary file of the form

Projects that contain extra files are described below.



Multi Terminals

Displays the three ActiveX Terminal Types in a Visual Basic form
TN3270 comes with a default hostname - locis.loc.gov
You must specify your hostname for TN5250 and VT Telnet

Connect to locis.loc.gov to run the sample script

Project also contains two module files:
Main.bas - The module that contains the Startup of the project. It launches 
the form and then finishes by ending the ActiveX Session and Transport objects.
VTKeys.bas - A file that contains an extensive list of the Virtual keys, some 
of which are called in the script.



Visual Phone Search

Runs a script on locis.loc.gov host, by navigating to a particular screen and 
searching for a topic that you enter, eg. Child.
