7f6aaf2e64 Gate the USB kiosk the same way, and make an unreachable setting a test failure
The USB kiosk had a feature flag and nothing else. A flag is a decision, not a
credential: with the kiosk on, anyone who could reach the app could move a drive
between checked-out and checked-in and sign it with a badge they guessed. Same
reasoning that closed the parts kiosk, smaller blast radius - which is why
Darkwing did not raise it and why it was worth asking about anyway.

Both kiosks now share one mechanism. The device token moved out of the
printedparts api wrapper into a request interceptor that attaches X-Kiosk-Token
by URL prefix, with one localStorage key per kiosk - they are separate screens
in separate rooms, and a shared token would mean provisioning one grants the
other. claimKioskToken() is shared too, so both views take the token from a
?token= URL once and strip it from the address bar identically.

Then the part that matters more than either fix. I told you to set the new
settings in the UI, and that was impossible: every plugin settings page carries
a hardcoded key list, and nothing had added them. printedparts_kiosk_enabled,
printedparts_kiosk_token and usb_kiosk_token were declared, seeded and read
correctly, and rendered by no page - changeable only by writing SQL.

tests/test_plugin_settings_reachable.py now fails when any declared setting
appears nowhere in its plugin's frontend. It found seven MORE that were already
in that state, all pre-existing:

  collector_corporate_ranges computers_configpolicies_enabled
  computers_machinelink_alerts computers_quietreporthours
  geenforce_reportstaleminutes printers_dashboardpercent
  warranty_expiringdays

All seven now have fields. I first parked them in a KNOWN_GAPS ratchet, then
fixed them and deleted the ratchet - a backlog list in a new check is a way of
agreeing the check does not apply yet. There is no backlog; the check is
absolute.

Two of my own mistakes on the way, both caught by tests rather than by reading:
the blanket rename of the USB guard also rewrote the call inside _kiosk_open, so
it called itself until the stack ran out; and the first version of the reachable
check skipped all 17 plugins because it looked for get_settings() when the
method is get_settings_defaults() - it passed by testing nothing, which is the
exact shape it exists to catch.

Suite 2336, frontend 316, build clean.

60c35728e8 Import USB records off an external cmmc_usb database, so a site can retire it
A site running external mode keeps its devices and check-in/out history in a
separate cmmc_usb database. There was no way to bring that in, so the choice
was to keep the second database forever or lose the history. This adds
'flask usb import-external' - dry run by default, --commit to write - which
reads through the same connection settings the routes already use and never
writes to the source.

Two things it has to reconcile, and they are why it is a command rather than a
few INSERTs.

The schemas disagree about SHAPE. External is an event log, one row per action;
self-hosted is a paired row carrying both times. Pairing walks each device in
time order, and real logs after years of use are untidy. The rule is that
nothing is invented and nothing vanishes: a drive still out becomes an open
checkout and is NOT flagged (that is just a drive somebody has), a return with
no matching issue is skipped and named, and two issues in a row leave the first
open rather than inventing a return time nobody recorded.

Identity is the other. usbdevices.serialnumber is unique and NOT NULL and the
external devices table has no serial, so device_id becomes it. Blank or
duplicated ids stop that device rather than inventing a key. external
device_owner has no column here, so it is appended to the device notes rather
than dropped.

Also adds usbcheckouts.scannedviruses, the one field with nowhere to land.
waswiped already means what external calls sanitized - selfhosted.py was
mapping it - but scanned_viruses was HARDCODED None in the log output: the API
promised the field and had nothing behind it, so an imported history would have
rendered blank. It now reads and writes properly.

Nullable, never defaulted to false. An unrecorded scan is not a failed scan,
and for removable-media records those are very different claims.

Full suite 2131 passed; seven new tests pin the pairing rules.

4e59fe30b2 A nav item says which permission its page needs
All checks were successful
CI / naming (push) Successful in 3s
CI / frontend (push) Successful in 12s
CI / migrations-mysql (push) Successful in 39s
CI / backend (push) Successful in 3m43s
The sidebar hides what the caller cannot reach - that is what makes it useful
to a guest, and what stops a member with a sparse role being offered links that
can only answer 403. It reads the permission off the nav item to decide.

Only four items ever declared one. Machines, PCs, Printers, Network, USB,
Knowledge Base, Notifications, Calendar, Dashboard, Map, Applications and
Reports declared nothing, so the filter had nothing to go on: granting the
guest role machines.view opened the API and left the sidebar empty, which reads
as the grant not working.

Every item now names its read permission - in the plugins, in the core
navigation endpoint, and in the frontend's fallback list, which is what renders
when the endpoint is unreachable and would otherwise disagree with it.

f59aca5a1b USB check-in / check-out audit, as a report rather than a paged list
CMMC removable-media tracking is an audit obligation, and answering "who had
this drive, and when" meant paging through the check-in/out list by hand.
GET /api/usb/reports/audit returns the events - a take and a return are separate
rows, because a count cannot answer the question an audit actually asks - with
summary figures riding along for the people who only want the shape of it, and
a CSV for the people who want it in a spreadsheet.

The window is named rather than a day count: today, last month, six months, a
year, all time. Nobody should have to work out that a year is 365.

Both directory modes answer in one voice. The external path reads the
cmmc_usb checkinoutlog; self-hosted expands one usbcheckouts row into its two
ends, so a returned drive is distinguishable from one still out, and the window
filter runs in SQL against either end of the loan - a drive taken before the
window and returned inside it is a check-in the window has to show. Rows come
back from the mode-specific half; the CSV, the summary and the response shape
are built once in the route.

Ordering is total in both modes. Timestamp alone ties for two events in the same
second, and the same query then returns them in a different order each run,
which reads as the log being unstable.

2ad2bd1b90 Sidebar sections are DECLARED, not guessed from a position number
The section headings were derived from position ranges: 10-29 became Assets,
30-49 became Information. A number is for ORDER; it was never a statement about
meaning, and using it as one meant a plugin landed in whichever bucket its
number happened to fall in.

That is how USB Devices - an asset - came to sit under Information beside
GE-Enforce and Tech Tools, and 3D Parts with it. Nobody chose that. It also
meant two plugins picking the same number silently reordered each other:
Warranties and Guides both held 8, the tie broke on plugin load order, and
Guides rendered under Warranties rather than under Slides where it was asked to
go. Warranties moves to 9.

Each nav item now names its section and the renderer groups by what was
declared. An item with no section stays in the unlabelled group at the top,
which is the safe default: it appears, it is simply not filed.

Assets gains USB Devices and 3D Parts. GE-Enforce and Tech Tools move to a new
Fleet section - they are neither assets nor reference material, and calling them
Information was only ever an artefact of their position numbers.

Also: sorting used `position || 99`, and 0 is falsy in JavaScript, so Dashboard -
the only item that uses 0 - sorted to the end of its own group.

7c47ae1f7c USB kiosk: take and return a drive without a ShopDB login
The people who actually take USB drives are standing at the cabinet, and most
of them have no account here. Check-out and check-in were gated behind a login
that was not doing much anyway: both modes already attribute the action to a
scanned BADGE rather than to the signed-in user, so the login was gating the
screen, not the record.

/usb-kiosk is a full-screen touch page modelled on the parts kiosk, off unless
a site sets usb_kiosk_enabled - every route 404s until then, rather than 403,
so a disabled kiosk does not advertise that there is a door here. It works
against the self-hosted tables or an existing cmmc_usb database.

THE LIST IS THE TRADE. These drives carry no barcode, so unlike the parts kiosk
there is nothing to present and the screen has to offer a list - which exposes
more than a scan-first design, where you had to already hold a drive to learn
anything. So the list is not anonymous: an SSO comes first and must resolve to
a real person before any drive is named, which is the same bar taking a drive
already had to clear. It is a POST so the badge stays out of proxy access logs.
The main screen shows the caller's own drives, what is free, and a COUNT of
everything else; holders of other people's drives appear only behind a second
deliberate tap, so nobody reads the whole cabinet off a wall panel in passing.

A badge that resolves to no employee is REFUSED, unlike the signed-in route
which creates the user row. A checkout nobody can trace to a person defeats the
tracking, and at a kiosk there is no operator standing there to vouch for it.

Returning somebody else's drive asks first and then records the badge that was
SCANNED, so the log says who actually handed it back. That is the honest record
and it needs no change to a schema this app does not own. Refusing a mismatch
outright is a setting but not the default: a drive left behind by somebody on
leave would otherwise be unreturnable at the kiosk, which just moves the problem
to a person with a login.

The authz sweep caught these writes, twice - once for the two mutations and
again for the two list endpoints. Both are exempted with the reasoning written
out beside the parts-kiosk entry rather than silenced. The list endpoints are
POSTs that change nothing.

Verified by driving the real page: SSO on the keypad, tap Take, database moves.

cd353b6432 Review safe-polish: docs accuracy, dead imports, no-emoji, geenforce robustness
Some checks failed
CI / backend (push) Has been cancelled
CI / naming (push) Has been cancelled
CI / frontend (push) Has been cancelled
From the full multi-agent review (0 high, 7 medium, 17 low findings). Applies
the mechanical, low-risk items; design/policy findings left for a decision.

Docs accuracy: CLAUDE.md contract 0.10.0 -> 0.11.0 and both stale Alembic head
citations -> 7d24_customfield_searchable / 31 migrations; Dockerfile bundled-
plugin comment fixed (drop nonexistent "equipment", add machines +
measuringtools, count eleven).

Style/naming (LOCKED rules): remove a CSS-escaped pushpin emoji before location
search results (no-emoji policy); rename ManifestEditor shareRoot -> shareroot
(variable mirrors the API field verbatim).

Dead code: remove confirmed-unused imports across ~20 modules (require_role/
require_permission scaffold residue, stray db/Vendor/Model/current_user/Optional/
error_response); drop unused build_scope import + a stale GEENFORCE_API_KEY
docstring clause in geenforce. Migration files left untouched.

Correctness: geenforce ingest robustness - record_enforcement_report now 400s
on a non-dict counts / non-list results instead of 500; _apply_app_link ignores
a non-numeric appid per its docstring instead of 500. Regression tests added.

Backend query.get sweep finished: auth.py refresh -> db.session.get (last one).

910 backend tests pass; pyflakes clean; naming green; frontend build green.

7dfbe7bf8a Add the get_permissions plugin hook (contract 0.10.0)

CI / naming (push) Successful in 2s
CI / frontend (push) Successful in 8s
Plugins declare their own RBAC permissions instead of core accumulating
them: 36 permissions moved out of the core catalog into the 9 owning
plugins (core keeps the 19 its own blueprints enforce). The catalog is
resolved dynamically (core + enabled plugins) and feeds the roles grid,
the token scope picker and ceiling, and flask seed permissions;
installing or enabling a plugin seeds its permissions automatically. A
disabled plugin drops out of the assignable catalog while existing role
links keep working. New plugins - bundled or external - now bring their
permissions with zero core edits.

781 tests pass; live-verified with a machines.edit-scoped token.

d08f341403 Wizard: choose "create tables here" vs "connect your own database" per plugin
Answers the confusion of asking for a DB connection while also offering to
create the tables. Each self-host-capable plugin (employees, usb) now shows a
mode choice; the external connection fields appear only for "connect your own
database". Default is self-hosted (create tables here) - the external path is
the niche/our-site option.

- provisioning_note gains mode_setting; employee_directory_mode + usb_directory_
  mode settings (both default 'selfhosted').
- Wizard renders the radio, shows the note for self-hosted and the config fields
for external, and saves the chosen mode.

Employees works fully in both modes. USB self-hosted ROUTING is still TODO - the
USB routes read the external cmmc_usb schema; wiring them to the app-owned
tables is the remaining work (tracked).

0e0bbc0604 Employees + USB default-disabled with an enable-time provisioning note
Both plugins provision extra tables, so they now install disabled and explain
themselves before a site opts in.

- Plugin contract gains get_provisioning_note() -> {tables, note, docs}.
Employees and USB implement it (what tables get created in shopdb, how they
are referenced, link to the schema README; USB references the captured
  DLP/reminder plans).
- Manifest default_enabled=false for employees + usb; the plugins list API
  returns provisioning_note + default_enabled; install now registers a plugin
  disabled when default_enabled is false.
- Setup wizard Features step renders the provisioning note the moment a plugin
  with one is enabled.

65b0197b2b Document external-DB schema contracts for employees + USB plugins
Every site's HR directory and USB check-in/out databases may use a different
schema, so document exactly what each plugin queries and how to adapt.

- plugins/employees/README.md: required employees table columns (SSO,
First_Name, Last_Name, Team, Role, Picture), the queries run, photo handling,
and a CREATE VIEW recipe to map a different site schema without code changes.
- plugins/usb/README.md: cmmc_usb devices / checkinoutlog / users columns,
read-write ops, the employee-directory dependency, and a view recipe.
- USB plugin gains get_config_schema() (cmmc_usb_db_host/name/user + password);
  cmmc_usb_connection reads host/name/user settings-first (env fallback), the
password stays env-only - matching the employees plugin.
- Config-field help points at the READMEs.

f663cc5bbe Enforce plugin contract purity: single import surface via shopdb.api
Plugins were reaching into internal core paths (shopdb.core.models.*,
shopdb.extensions, shopdb.utils.*), coupling them to core's file layout and
violating the ADR-001 contract. Consolidate onto one versioned surface.

- shopdb.api: expand from 2 helpers to the full plugin import surface -
db, cache; BaseModel, AuditMixin; core models (Asset, AssetType,
AssetStatus, Vendor, Model, Communication, CommunicationType, Location,
Setting, AuditLog, Application, AppVersion, OperatingSystem); response +
pagination helpers; employee_connection. Documented in PLUGIN-HOOKS.md.
- Migrate all 22 plugin source files to import only from shopdb.api (plus
  shopdb.plugins.base for the ABC).
- Drop the printers plugin's legacy MachineType dependency: remove
_ensure_legacy_machine_types and the seed_supplies machinetypeid lookup
(Model.machinetypeid is nullable; printers carry type via PrinterType).
- Guard test test_plugins_only_import_contract_surface scans plugin source
and fails on any core import outside shopdb.api / shopdb.plugins.base.
- Scaffold templates updated so generated plugins are contract-pure.
- Bump __contract_version__ 0.2.0 -> 0.3.0 (additive surface expansion;
manifests pin <1.0.0 so they still satisfy).

145 tests pass, naming/style green, app factory boots all 6 plugins.
