THE RECIPROCAL LINKS BUG
A PC's page showed "Serves machine 7803" at the top. The machine's page showed
nothing equivalent, though the same edge was right there in the relationships
card at the bottom. That asymmetry read as missing data and was reported as
such.
It was neither missing data nor an API fault. The endpoint returns both
directions and always did; AssetTriageBand already walked outgoing AND incoming
and deduped, with a comment explaining that production holds reciprocal rows.
It then discarded every peer whose asset type was not 'machine', and hardcoded
the label "Serves machine". So the component could only ever work from the PC
side, and it was mounted only on the PC page.
The counterpart type and label are now props, defaulting to the old values so
the PC page is unchanged. The machine page mounts the band with
counterparttype="computer" and the label "Controlled by".
Eliminated with evidence rather than assumed, because this bug had already been
misdiagnosed twice: the endpoint runs two queries and returns both arrays; the
generic card renders both; that route has no pagination to clamp; and a single
permission gate cannot admit one direction and not the other.
THE RELATIONSHIP TYPE WAS ALSO HARDCODED
Not every asset pair is linked by 'controls'. A machine reaches a printer
through usesprinter and defaultprinter, so the band was blank on the printer
page - the one page where the link is not obvious from the asset itself. The
types are now a prop, and the printer page passes its own.
THE CHIPS WERE DEAD LINKS
Found while adopting the band more widely. It linked to /assets/<assetid>.
There is no /assets/:id route and no catch-all, so every chip in the band was
dead - and this change would have propagated that to four more pages.
AssetRelationships.vue already resolved this correctly and privately. That
function is now frontend/src/utils/assetRoute.js and both components use it, so
a third caller cannot get it wrong again. Two things it gets right that are easy
to miss: the detail routes key on pluginid, not assetid, so passing assetid
opens the wrong record; and the lookup is now case-insensitive, because
csvimport.py seeds 'Computer' and 'Machine' capitalised while this site's
database holds them lowercase - a case-sensitive match produced dead links at
whichever site seeded the other way.
The band now carries pluginid and assettypename on each chip, which the
resolver needs.
TESTS
assetRoute had none and neither did the band. Seven cover the resolver,
including the assetid-vs-pluginid confusion and the seeding-case difference.
On the backend, nothing asserted that the TARGET of a directional edge receives
it in `incoming` - only that rows carry isdirectional. That missing assertion is
this bug's exact shape, so it is now pinned: the endpoint was right all along,
and the next such report should not cost anyone a re-diagnosis of the API.
Verified on screen: the machine page shows "Controlled by G6K76CW3ESF" in the
hero, the PC page is unchanged, and a page with no such link renders no empty
band. Full suite 2162 passed, frontend 280 passed.
Three colour faults on the PC page, each hiding the next.
ACTIVITY BADGES WERE ALL GREY. The list renderer reads a badge colour from a
ROW FIELD, and the activity panel declared none, so every severity rendered
identically. The feed's whole job is to make a critical event visible and it
was painting it the same as a logon. The route now emits severitycolor - info
grey, warning yellow, critical red - and the panel declares it.
PAUSED AND THE TRANSITIONAL STATES WERE RED. statecolor was green-or-red-or-
grey, so a paused service looked like a stopped one. They are different: a
paused service was paused deliberately, and one stuck in Start Pending is
failing to start on a retry cycle - which is exactly what raises event 7011,
the thing behind the critical counts on the Fleet page. Both are amber now.
NAMED COLOURS ALWAYS GOT WHITE TEXT. readableText only parsed hex and returned
white for anything else, but panels emit NAMES. Green, red and grey are dark
enough that white worked by luck; amber is not, so the fix above shipped as
white-on-yellow and could not be read. Names resolve to hex before the contrast
test, so this holds for any named colour anywhere in the app rather than these
two panels.
colorStyle had no test file at all. It has one now.
Every one of these was found by looking at the rendered page. None of them
would fail a test that checked markup.
Full suite 2131 passed, vitest 273 passed.
POST /api/reports/email has always taken any {columns, rows} from any caller,
but the Email report button existed on the toner and warranty pages only - not
because those reports are special, but because they happen to be their own
routed pages and the reports page had no button at all. It is now beside Export
CSV for every report the page can build a table from, which is all of them:
plugin reports through their declared columns, core reports through the flat
list they return, and the asset inventory summary by flattening its three
tables into one with the grouping named in a column. Presentation-only fields -
a status colour, a link id - are left out; a column of hex codes is worse than
no column. The shapes live in a module with tests rather than in the view.
The button is now hidden without reports.export on all three pages. Offering
somebody a button that can only answer 403 is worse than not offering it.
Separately, on the USB kiosk a long drive name pushed Take or Return out
through the side of its card, leaving a drive nobody could press. The name is a
flex item and so defaulted to min-width:auto, keeping its full intrinsic width;
it now yields, wraps mid-word for the serial-style names that carry no spaces,
and clamps its description to two lines so one long name cannot make every card
in the row tall. The locker line is never clipped - it is how somebody finds
the drive.
The patterns are assembled from fragments so the published script does not
contain the strings it greps for. They used the apostrophe-escape form
('a'\''b'), which EMBEDS a literal apostrophe, instead of the concatenation form
('a''b'), which joins them. Every pattern therefore carried a stray quote in the
middle and could never match a line of real code, so the check passed everything
from the day it was written.
Verified the only way that means anything: plant a violation, watch it fail,
revert. Fixed, it immediately found 25 real hits.
Among them, in seven places, the default ServiceNow URLs - one organisation's QA
tenant, shipped with the integration ENABLED. Any site that had not configured
ServiceNow still rendered ticket links, pointing its technicians at a tenant
they cannot reach; an adopting site would have been pointed into somebody else's
instance entirely. There is no sensible cross-site default for "which ServiceNow
is yours", so the URLs ship blank and the integration ships off, matching the
Zabbix block that got this right.
A named SaaS tenant is as site-specific as a hostname, so it joins the patterns.
Colocated .spec.js files are excluded the same way tests/ already is: sample data
naming a facility is not a shipped literal.
Three things the code generator could not do, each of which had someone
working around it with a control that meant something else.
The gap between a code and its caption was the quiet zone. That is the
clear space a scanner needs around the code, so closing up a caption meant
shaving the thing that makes the code readable, and the only way to get a
tight label to scan was to push the caption further away than it looked
like it should be. Quiet zone now means the code's own margin and nothing
else; gap means the distance to the caption, and adds to the quiet zone
rather than eating into it. Each stock preset carries the gap that suits it.
Position had one pair of controls and they moved the label box on the
stock. That is the fix for a printer whose origin is off, and it is not the
fix for a code sitting in the wrong place on a label - but it was the only
lever there, so it got used for both. The label div is now the media and
holds still; everything printed sits in a content wrapper that Align,
Vertical and Content X/Y move within it. The old pair kept its behaviour
and is labelled Media X/Y.
A badge card has two sides and the generator only ever emitted one page per
card. The back can now carry the same code again, a fixed block of text,
its own per-row content, or nothing. Page order is a choice because the two
kinds of printer want opposite things: interleaved for a duplex card
printer, which takes pages two at a time, and grouped for a single-sided
one whose stack gets flipped and reloaded. A row that leaves its back
column empty still gets a blank back page - a page count that varies per
row shifts every later back onto the wrong front, which prints a box of
perfectly readable cards that are all wrong.
CSV parsing and page building moved to plugins/tools/frontend/labelPages.js
(committed in 875fde9), where the column contract and both page orders are
covered by tests rather than by looking at the preview.
Three core pages and four plugin pages each imported qrcode and jsbarcode
directly, and each carried its own answer to the same questions: what margin,
what width, which error correction, how big a module must be before a scanner
can read it. The answers had already drifted - margin 0 in one place and 2 in
another, width 150 against 160 - and on a label that is the difference between
a sticker that scans and one that does not.
frontend/src/utils/codes.js owns it now: the label-stock presets, the quiet-zone
and margin defaults, CODE128 with no printed value, and the printer-resolution
arithmetic that only the Tech Tools generator had. A view passes what is
specific to its own label and nothing else - MachineBadge still asks for CODE39,
because the badge readers predate the shop-floor scanners and decode nothing
else, and that is exactly the kind of thing a call site should say out loud.
views/print/qrLogo.js is folded in rather than left as a second half-shared
helper that only some of the pages reached into.
The check script now fails a build that imports either library outside that
module. Without it this re-forks within a month: the next label page starts by
copying the nearest existing one, which is how it happened the first time.
Tests cover the part no amount of looking at a screen verifies - a QR that
looks fine at 96 dpi on a monitor can be unreadable at 203 dpi on half-inch
stock.
The scanner has been reporting the same count for weeks, which is what a rule
that only prints becomes. It now FAILS the build, and it looks where the leaks
actually were: PowerShell, the installer, the seeds, generated JSON, the
frontend - case-insensitively, across plugins, shopdb, scripts, deploy, tools.
A line that is deliberate declares itself with an ADR-015-OK marker and a
reason, so the claim is visible in review instead of tolerated in silence.
What it found, fixed here:
- The shadow client wrote one site's ShopDB URL into HKLM whenever the registry
disagreed. At the site it was written for that reads as healing drift;
anywhere else it overwrites the site's own address on every enforce cycle,
and the site cannot win because the cycle repeats. The bay's value now wins,
an explicit -BaseUrl seeds it, and with neither there is nothing honest to
write, so it says so and skips.
- The kiosk dispatcher fell back to one plant's host when HKLM was unset, so a
kiosk elsewhere quietly opened a server it has no business reaching. The
fallback is now this site's site_base_url, baked in at seed time, and the
dispatcher refuses rather than guessing when neither is set. Its legacy
shortcut matcher derives the host from that URL instead of naming one.
- The OpenAPI generator hardcoded a production hostname into every spec it
generated, which then published to a public wiki. The relative mount is the
only server it can honestly name; a site passes its own by environment.
- Placeholders and examples in the UI and the client help offered real internal
subnets and a real production URL. They now use documentation ranges.
Both publication gates - the export scrub and the docs publishability test -
carry the site patterns, which neither did. One plant's hostname, FQDN and
internal networks are out of the documentation and the generated specs.
Comments naming the reference site are reworded rather than deleted: the
reasoning is worth keeping, the plant name is not what makes it true.
The classic ASP site prints a week number under the site title, and people
quote it in conversation and on paperwork. Anyone with both sites open needs
the two to agree, so this is a port of the old arithmetic rather than a fresh
interpretation of what a fiscal week is: ISO 8601, week 1 contains 4 January,
and the week's Thursday decides which year it belongs to. That rule is what
makes late December and early January land in the right year, which is exactly
where a naive day-of-year count goes wrong, so it is what the tests cover.
Worth recording: a true GE fiscal calendar need not follow ISO weeks. Nobody
has asked for a different rule, and inventing one here would silently disagree
with the site people compare against.
Computed in local time on purpose. The number people quote is the one on the
wall where they stand, and a UTC week rolls over hours early in the evening at
a US site. The sidebar re-checks every half hour; the shop-floor board picks it
up with the clock it already ticks.
The ring only has to separate the mark from the surface; at 2px it read as
part of the mark. Markers go to 1.25, legend dots to 1.5px (they are larger,
so the same visual weight needs slightly more), and the PDF marker and swatch
strokes drop to match.
Keying the ring off the fill singled out the light colors: on the map the
orange network-device marker took a black ring while its neighbours kept white
ones, and the legend dot for the same type wore a surface-colored border, so
the key did not match the markers.
Ring by the SURFACE instead - dark on the white blueprint, light on the dark
one - which is uniform within a theme and still works for every fill, since a
fill that resembles the ring is by definition far from the background. Legend
swatches take the same ring, the theme watcher redraws the markers (their ring
now depends on it), and the PDF uses the light-surface ring throughout because
it prints on white.
Markers sit on two very different surfaces - the light blueprint on white and
the dark blueprint over the near-black navy card - but the palette only ever
suited one. The grey "no subtype" default sat at 1.88:1 against white and the
orange asset-type step at 2.16:1, so both effectively disappeared on the light
blueprint. The fixed white ring made it worse: on white it added nothing.
Re-step the asset-type colors to versions of the SAME hues that clear 3:1
against both surfaces, replace the grey default with a neutral that clears
5.4:1 / 3.7:1, and derive the ring from the fill's luminance (light fill ->
dark ring, dark fill -> light ring) so every marker keeps a hard edge on
either background. The ring also rescues a washed-out color a user picks by
hand for a subtype, which no palette change can reach. The PDF export applies
the same rule to its markers and legend swatches, keeping print in parity.
Colors were chosen against a contrast/CVD validator rather than by eye. Note
that five simultaneous hues cannot all stay distinguishable under color-blind
simulation - past roughly five subtypes on screen, the legend and the hover
tooltip carry identity.
Adds computed contrast assertions so a future palette edit cannot
reintroduce a washed-out step.
MapView carried its own copy of the per-type subtype-id lookup and it
never gained a Measuring Tool branch, so selecting any measuring-tool
subtype filtered out all assets. Marker coloring and the PDF export were
unaffected because both already used the shared getSubtypeId helper.
Point the filter at that shared helper and delete the duplicate copy in
ShopFloorMap too, so one definition serves filter, coloring and export.
Adds a table-driven spec covering every subtype-carrying asset type.
Notification start/end times displayed and stored wrong by the tz offset
(a 2:34 PM entry showed 6:34 PM). Two stacked bugs: to_dict emitted stored
UTC as naive ISO (no offset) so the browser read it as local, and the form
filled the datetime-local input from toISOString() (UTC).
Fix and generalize to a configurable site timezone (multi-site):
- New setting site_timezone (default America/New_York), public, editable in
Settings > Site > Localization (common-zone dropdown).
- Backend tags datetimes UTC (_utc_iso); parse normalizes to naive UTC
(_parse_utc); daily-reset expiry uses the site zone (_next_site_time);
calendar allDay events key off the site-local day (_site_date).
- Shared frontend util datetime.js (Intl-based, DST-safe) converts between a
UTC instant and a site-zone wall clock. Notification form, list, and
calendar all render/enter in the site zone.
Two problems with application download/launch/doc links:
1. Stored paths like 'installers/Foo.exe' are relative, so an <a href> on
/shopdb/applications/6 resolved to /shopdb/applications/installers/Foo.exe.
New basePath.fileHref() mounts a relative path under the app base
(-> /shopdb/installers/Foo.exe) while leaving full URLs and UNC/file paths
untouched. Applied to installpath, applicationlink, and documentationpath in
the list and detail views.
2. Even the correct /shopdb/installers/Foo.exe 404s: httpPlatformHandler is
path="*", so IIS forwards it to Flask, which has no such route. Add a
web.config <location path="installers"> that clears the handler and serves
that subpath as IIS static (with .exe/.msi MIME), from a physical
APP_ROOT\installers folder.
The notes field is authored as HTML (the form says "HTML supported") but the
detail page interpolated it with {{ }}, so tags like <BR> showed as literal
text. Render via v-html through a DOMPurify sanitizer (utils/sanitizeHtml):
allow-list of formatting tags + links only, forces target=_blank
rel=noopener on links, strips scripts/handlers. Promote dompurify to a direct
dependency (was transitive via jspdf).
Loader: bool() on pymysql bit(1) bytes is always true - isinstallable
and isshopfloor imported as 1 for every row; route through _truthy_bit.
The employee source DB is now optional (shopdb-only imports).
Frontend: under a subpath mount the 401 interceptor stored the browser
path (mount base included) as the login redirect and the router applied
its base again (/ops/ops). New stripBase() keeps redirects base-free.
tools/export-github.sh automates the publication flow: prune + scrub +
commit into ~/projects/shopdb-flask-pub and emit a transfer bundle.
The app can run as an IIS Application under an existing site
(e.g. https://host/ops/) instead of its own site + port:
- frontend: vite base via VITE_BASE_PATH; router history, axios
baseURL, and root-absolute asset/route paths resolve through
utils/basePath.js withBase()
- backend: MOUNT_PATH (env or .env) wraps the app in a WSGI
middleware that shifts the prefix into SCRIPT_NAME, so one knob
serves API + SPA under the mount
- docs: INSTALL-WINDOWS-IIS.md section 7b runbook + troubleshooting
rows; DEPLOY-WINDOWS-IIS.md pointer; commented examples in
deploy/windows/web.config and .env.example
Root deployment unchanged (MOUNT_PATH unset, base '/'). Also folds
two stray root-absolute callers into the shared plumbing
(MachineForm relationship-types fetch, reports CSV window.open).
Support teams: contact management moved from a row expander to a modal
(Contacts (N) button per team); application detail Support card and the
modal show Email (mailto) and Teams chat buttons for contacts with an
SSO, derived as sso@ + a new contact_email_domain site setting
(default geaerospace.com, blank hides the buttons).
Audit log: hovering a user SSO shows the full name, resolved
best-effort from the employee directory in either mode.
Docs/hygiene from a standards review: CLAUDE.md active-state,
CONTRACT-STABILITY.md and README brought to contract 0.10.0 / 11
plugins / migration head 7d22; get_asset_panels endpoint path fixed in
the hook docstring; leftover debug console.logs removed.
781 tests pass; contacts modal, action-button hrefs, and the audit
tooltip verified live.

API tokens: any user mints named, optionally-expiring tokens
(shopdb_pat_..., sha256-stored, secret shown once) at Settings > API
Tokens; a before-request shim swaps a valid PAT for a request-scoped
JWT of its owner, so the entire existing auth/authz/import-mode stack
works unchanged and revoked/expired tokens 401 cleanly. Built for
long-running scripts - the legacy import no longer dies when a login
JWT expires. Migration 7d21_apitokens; create/revoke audit-logged.
Audited integration gaps fixed: Asset.to_dict serializes measuring
tools (typedata + pluginid - relationship links to tools resolve); map
subtype filter/colors and MapEditor include them; dashboard totals
count them; warranty links use a new by-asset route; the measuringtools
ADR-010 hooks are real (corrected presentation token, implemented
map-overlay endpoint); the login avatar resolves through the
employee-photo helper.
737 tests pass; naming green; frontend builds; both features verified
live end-to-end.

The measuringtools plugin was missing from two cross-cutting surfaces:
the asset-identifier matrix (no measuring_tool column or per-type
keys - gauge lab reference is their primary identifier) and global
search (results fell to a generic URL and gaugelabreference was never
searched). Measuring tools now have identifier toggles, gated
gauge-lab and maintenance-reference fields on their form and detail,
a search domain toggle, gage-tag search, and proper labels, routes,
and filter chips in search results.

The equipment plugin is now the machines plugin, ending the UI-vs-code
vocabulary split while the contract is pre-1.0 and nothing external
depends on the old names.
- plugins/equipment -> plugins/machines: manifest, class, /api/machines,
machines.* permissions, registry key (with an auto-migrating load shim
for existing installs).
- Tables: equipment -> machines (equipmentid -> machineid) and
equipmenttypes -> machinetypes, renamed in the plugin's own migration
chain (machines0002rename), idempotent for both upgrading and fresh
installs.
- The legacy core machinetypes lookup actually types the vendor MODELS
catalog, so it is renamed losslessly to modeltypes
(models.modeltypeid, /api/modeltypes, Model Types settings page)
rather than collapsed, freeing the machinetypes name. Core migration
7d17_machines_rename also flips data in place: assettypes row
equipment -> machine, auditlog entitytype, identifier_/search_
settings keys, permission rows, and renames alembic_version_equipment.
- Frontend: machinesApi/modeltypesApi, item.machine response shape,
assettype value compares 'equipment' -> 'machine' (map, search,
custom fields, relationships), routes machines.js with plugin gating
retagged, /print/machine-badge, Machine Types (subtypes) and Model
Types (catalog) settings pages, machines-by-type report id.
- Docs swept; ADRs left as history per the authoring rule.
Upgrade: flask db upgrade then flask plugin upgrade-all.
Verified: dev DB flipped live (262 machines, 35 modeltypes, 95 models
retyped, zero equipment tables remain); fresh scratch-MySQL install
produces the new names; 341 tests green; naming/style green; frontend
builds; live E2E on machines list/detail, PC relationships, map,
reports, and both settings pages.

Framework:
- Per-plugin Alembic migration chains (ADR-008): every bundled plugin
carries its own chain with a stamp-only anchor at the ownership cutover;
new plugin schema lands in plugins/<name>/migrations/, never the core
chain. Deploys add flask plugin upgrade-all. Fixed a latent bug in the
shared alembic template (engine URL resolution) and taught the metadata
filter to include FK-referenced core tables.
- Frontend plugin route gating (ADR-009): plugin routes carry meta.plugin;
a disabled plugin's pages redirect to the dashboard via a cached,
fail-open check against the new public GET /api/plugins/enabled.
- get_reports() plugin hook (contract 0.5.0 -> 0.6.0): plugins contribute
report cards; warranty and toner cards moved off the hardcoded list.
Reports:
- Hub grouped by category with search; inline reports render at the top,
are URL-backed (?report=id, back-button and deep links work), expose
their server-side filter params as controls, and export CSV. Warranty
and Toner pages gained CSV export.
- Deleted the dead legacy Warranty Status report (always-zero buckets
from a retired column).
Theming and fonts:
- Inter (variable) bundled locally via @fontsource, replacing the Google
Fonts Roboto import - air-gapped installs now render correctly; tables
use tabular numerals.
- Optional brand_primary_dark_color, brand_accent_color,
brand_sidebar_color settings applied to CSS vars at bootstrap.
USB frontend repair (views were reading a dead legacy shape):
- List/detail/form and the employee profile USB panels remapped to the
real API shape (device_id/device_desc/checkinoutlog); employee panels
now use /usb/checkouts endpoints; external-mode /usb/checkouts/active
honors the badge filter; dead client methods pruned.
Also: warranties list page no longer requires login (matches app
convention); collector doc rewritten with a GE-Enforce integration guide
and paste-ready PowerShell reporter; ADR index and CHANGELOG updated.
Verified: 323 tests pass, naming/style green, frontend builds, plugin
migration dry-run green on scratch MySQL.

Make the app distributable to other GE Aerospace sites (one self-hosted
instance per site, ADR-004). GE values remain the shipped defaults; every
site-specific behavior is now a Setting an admin can change in the UI.
Settings-driven site config:
- Branding: site/QR/badge logos, favicon, primary color (upload endpoints
mirror the map-blueprint pattern; new Settings > Branding section).
- ServiceNow: search/incident/change URL templates ({ticket}), ticket
prefixes, enable toggle. Defaults point at the current
geaerospaceqa.service-now.com global search. Disabled = plain-text tickets.
- Employee-id regex (employeeid_pattern), printer hostname template,
QR label targets (qr_target_printer / qr_target_usb, blank = asset page,
else URL template with placeholders), usb_label_style (barcode|qr).
- West Jefferson floor-plan PNGs removed from the tree; generic placeholder
ships as the map default and sites upload their own blueprint.
Security closeout:
- dashboarddefaults writes now require admin.
- Collector: generic error messages (no str(exc) leak); API key accepted
via X-API-Key header only (BREAKING: querystring api_key removed).
- IP-based login rate limiting (AUTH_RATELIMIT_* knobs) atop account lockout.
- Setting.set() creation race fixed (IntegrityError retry).
Release engineering and docs:
- __version__ 0.5.0 (distinct from __contract_version__, ADR-007),
CHANGELOG.md, Gitea Actions CI config, frontend version aligned.
- One wizard-first install story across README/DEPLOY; new CONFIG.md,
UPGRADE.md, BACKUP-RESTORE.md; CLAUDE.md and ROADMAP de-staled.
- Dockerfile multi-stage build now bundles the frontend; compose binds
MySQL to 127.0.0.1; stale database/schema.sql and one-off SQL removed.
Debt and fixes:
- .query.get() -> db.session.get() sweep; datetime.utcnow() removed
(naive-UTC via timezone-aware now); users.py on authz decorators.
- Fixed 4 stale tests (slides feed shape, shopfloor splitperemployee,
plugin contract purity) and the USB label page field mapping (both usb
modes emit the cmmc shape: device_id/device_desc).
- Health endpoint reports the real version.
248 tests pass; naming/style check green; frontend builds; fresh-DB
flask db upgrade + seeds verified; QR targets verified by decoding
rendered codes.

- Shared utils/apiError.js reads the correct nested error message (with
fallbacks); swept 37 views/components off the shallow path so real backend
messages (e.g. in-use 409s) surface instead of generic "Failed".
- useWarrantyBadge composable: warranty hero status/end-date badge now on PC,
equipment, printer, and network detail heroes (one shared fetch feeds the
badge + the WarrantyPanel).
- Warranties list: client-side search (vendor/level/tag/asset) + pagination;
truncate long service levels so they stop blowing out the table width.
- "Re-check all" button + POST /warranty/sync/dell?all=true to re-pull dated
Dell warranties, not just missing ones.
- Deprecate the standalone pxe-images/warranty_sync.py in favor of the plugin.

Feature work from the 2026-07 session:
Settings IA
- Replace the flat 27-card settings hub with a persistent two-pane shell
(SettingsLayout.vue): grouped, searchable left rail + content pane.
- Nest all settings/* routes under the shell via router post-processing;
shared nav catalog in settingsNav.js. Group by asset class (PCs, Printers,
Equipment, Network) so per-type settings stop scattering.
Custom fields (core)
- customfields + customfieldvalues tables (migration 7d14), CRUD API at
/api/customfields, per-asset value get/save.
- Settings management page + reusable CustomFieldsSection (detail) and
CustomFieldsInputs (form) wired into all four asset types.
Warranty (new plugin)
- plugins/warranty: warranties + warrantyassets (migration 7d15), derived
coverage status, provider abstraction (manual now; Dell/Lenovo/HP stubs).
- API CRUD + per-asset panel + report buckets; WarrantyPanel on all four
detail pages; Warranties management page; Warranty report + Reports card.
- Seed warranty.* permissions.
Printer drivers
- printerdrivers table (migration 7d13) linked to printer models; drivers now
surface on the matching printer's detail page.
Other
- PCDetail rebalanced (Network + Status + Warranty + custom fields on the right).
- Rename PCs list "Features" column to "Remote Access"; fix badge hover underline.
- Drop equipment islocationonly field.
- Centralize asset-type label/route maps into utils/assetTypes.js.
